You are welcome here.

The therapeutic relationship is one of the most important components of therapy.
Here at The Wholefulness Practice, we provide an expert team of psychologists in the heart of London, near Liverpool Street station, who want to ensure that you feel comfortable, free to be yourself, truly heard and supported in your journey of self-discovery.
You can relax and feel assured that we’ve selected our psychologists with your best interests at heart, so all that’s left for you to do is to take the next step forward towards the life you’d like to create!
Once we connect, the first step on our journey will be to decide on a day and time to have an initial session, which will last for 50-minutes, where you will be able to experience a taste of our therapy strategies.
During this session, you will be able to:
– ask questions
– express your feelings
– assess how comfortable you feel with your psychologist
There is absolutely no obligation to meet again after the initial session. You are the director of your journey to feel better, at all stages of the process, and you decide when you would like to begin and when you feel ready to end. With practices in North London and on Liverpool Street, here at The Wholefulness Practice, we will commit to you if you will commit to yourself and to your wellbeing.

Please feel free to contact The Wholefulness Practice if you have any questions or if you wish to book an appointment. We very much look forward to connecting with you.

About Our Head Psychologist, Dr. Mary-Anne Smyth

Chartered Counselling Psychologist, Psy.D, BSc, BPS Accredited, HPC Registered.

***

With a Doctorate in Psychotherapeutic and Counselling Psychology from The University of Surrey, I have trained in various models of therapy including Person-Centered, Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Mindfulness.

I have extensive experience working with various therapeutic models, and as such, I am able to tailor a unique therapy experience for every individual, with an array of therapeutic tools to choose from. Through collaboration, each client and I are able to create something very unique together, picking and choosing the aspects that fit the situation best.

***

My experience includes working within the NHS, universities, charities, and in my private practice. Additionally, I have been a part of specialist services, providing support for those suffering with addictions and chronic pain.

The types of issues I’ve worked with therapeutically are varied and include but are not limited to:

– depression
– anxiety
– trauma

– addictions
– relational issues
– psychological disorders
– personal development and insight

I provide therapy for individuals and couples both on a short-term and long-term basis.

In addition to this, I lecture in psychology to undergraduates and doctoral students.

***

My way of working therapeutically values the uniqueness of every individual and aims to provide a non-judgmental and safe space where clients are free to express themselves.

This therapeutic space can take many forms. For example, if words feel difficult or insufficient, creative work — such as drawing, using role-play or even imagery exercises — can be utilized. Whatever form therapy takes, it’s always tailored through collaboration with the individual and based on their personal needs at the time.

I aim to promote a supportive environment for all of my clients. Above all else, what I can offer and can promise you is that I will be human — just like you.
